Howdy Folks,

We're BACK!!! The season is finally here, and I can't control myself. It has been a long off season of watching re-runs and waiting for the NFL to come back. The Olympics helped ease the off-season pain this year with the amazing performances by Phelps and Insane Bolt. Crazy man. However, the Olympics just don't compare to the thrill of betting on the NFL. I am shaking right now. Is it really true, that tonight on prime time TV we will have the opening of the season? It is. It is. Sweet. Even Gov. Sarah Palin raises her hand in joy that football is back. Gov. Sarah Palin says I vote for football!Gov. Sarah Palin says I vote for football! So get your fantasy lineups in and set your picks, because we are going to get right to the action. I'll just pick tonights game for now.

Washington Redskins (+4.5) at N.Y.Giants

Tonights matchup features the defending Super Bowl Champs versus the team of destiny last year. The Skins finished the year off brilliantly by winning their last 4 games after the death of Sean Taylor to get into the post season. The Giants are looking pretty beat and battered to start the season this year. They are without their pass rushing specialist Osi Umenyora who suffered a season ending knee injury in the pre-season. New York desperately tried to talk the gap tooth man Strahan to come back, but he said no thank you. I guess he would rather hang out on the beach with hotties than tackle sweaty men all day. Who can blame him? Also Jeremy Shockey has left for New Orleans, and their kicker Lawrence Tynes is out with an injury too. Not looking so comfy right now for the Giants to start the year off.

As for the Redskins, they again are going to battle with Jason Campbell at the helm. Campbell showed great improvements at the end of last season, and looks to get off to a better start this year. The Skins will probably look again to pound the ball with Clinton Portis, and dump the ball off to funny man Chris Cooley in tight situations. Have you seen his fantasy football draft? It's pretty funny check it out here.

I think tonight's game will be a very close battle with the Giants taking the earlier lead with Jacobs and Eli doing well. However, with all the changes that they are facing this year, I think the Skins can hang with them in this one. The Giants might be wishing they had Tynes back when they miss a couple of long FGs that would have covered the spread. I do think the Giants will probably win this one, but that is not what is important here. I think it comes down to the wire, and give me the 4.5 points baby. Take it to the bank or should I say Drill Baby Drill.
