Don't Cry, it's your day!Don't Cry, it's your day!I'm sure a lot of you were disappointed by the lack of your ACC Picks last week, but everyone deserves a day off right?  Anyways, we're back for another great ACC Wednesday night selection.  Our first matchup has a rough and tumble Hokie squad looking to upset the Clemson Tigers, and in our second matchup we have the Terps looking to come back from a dismal defeat by Duke the last time out.  I'm not sure the kid on the right will be at tonight's game, but somehow I think he will have a different look about him this time around.

Virginia Tech +10.5 at Clemson

Clemson comes into tonight's game 1.5 games back of UNC for the ACC regular season crowd.  Honestly, I don't think they are going to catch them as they still have FSU (Go Noles) and Wake Forest remaining after tonight's tough matchup with Va. Tech.  Va. Tech has been on the losing end of 5 different games by 2 points or less.  They are basically the tough team that just can't get over the hump.  The last time these two teams played Va. Tech went up by 15 points early on in the first half, only to see their lead slip away and watch Clemson walk away with a four point victory.  My thoughts are that Va. Tech is hungry to finally get back on the winning track tonight after losing 3 straight, and that will feed into a much closer game than the experts think.  Go with the Hokies.

Duke -6 at Maryland

The last time these two teams matched up, the Blue Devils destroyed the Terps by a whopping 39 points, and in the process handing Maryland's head coach his largest loss in his history.  This was due in large part to Duke being able to shut down Greivis Vazquez, who normally averages 17+ points,  to just 4 points in the matchup.  As a team, Maryland shot just 28%.  However, recently Duke's defense has been lacking with opponents shooting around 54% in their last 4 matchups, including a 61% shooting outage by Wake Forest on Sunday night.  What matters though is the end result, and that was a 10 point victory by Duke over Wake (101-91).  Duke is going to have to weather an early storm my Maryland tonight, but they should be fine.  It's almost March and Coach K and the Blue Devils are like Clemson, 1.5 games out of 1st in the ACC, and they have a final matchup with UNC to end the regular season.  Look for the Blue Devils to win this one by about 10.
