Howdy,
We learned today that Britney is going back to the hospital in ambulance. Oh Snap, What a sad story. So back up the wackiness of Spears, we are off to Part 3 of the wild and wacky world of Prop bets.
1. What will be the first beer commericial to air during the halftime break?
Bud light (2/3)
Coors Light (3/2)
Miller Draft(7/1)
We know that Bud Light will dominate the commercials again in this years Super Bowl. They will probably have the funniest commerical too. This bet intrigues me because its all about timing. Will Bud light blow its load in the first half and ease off the half time when people are hitting the john, and restocking on beer and chips or will they just go all out an dominate. Coors Light has been coming on strong with their post game coach interviews too. I think I might go with the middle favorite in this one, and try to win some extra dough. It's tough, but I think they are who we thought they were and you play to win the game.
2. What Super Bowl commercial will have a higher rating on USA Today's annual Ad Meter?
Budweiser(1/2)
Go Daddy(3/1)
Pepsi(6/1)
McDonald's(9/1)
Victoria Secret (8/1)
Other(2/1)
Again we are sticking with the commercial theme. Budweiser usually domintates the USA today after each Super Bowl. They have funny commercials, sentimental commercials, just plain stupid commercials. When you flood the TV you are bound to get something right. I will admit though they are pretty good. However, word on the street is that Pepsi has a good commercial with Timberlake this Sunday too. I would play both. Bet on BUD WEIS ERRRR, but put some cash on Pepsi to sneak in as the underdog.
3. How will the Winning Conference of the Super Bowl impact Wall Street?
AFC Wins/Market Down (1/2)
AFC Wins/Market Up (3/2)
NFC Wins/Market Down (5/1)
NFC Wins/Market Up (6/1)
HAHA. This one makes me laugh. I have no clue what the history says on the market the day after the Super Bowl. I think a more important thing to watch is what happens to the Market on Friday. If it goes way down on Friday, I might look for the Market to bounce on the Monday for a little comeback. This one is tough. The smart gambler eliminates the NFC on this one, because they are just too big of an underdog to pull off the upset. I guess I would take AFC wins plus market up. People might be all excited about the history of the perfect season that it will convince them to buy stocks and forgot about the recession for a day. Watch the financial news that comes out on Friday though, to be sure. If its really bad news, watch out!!
