Free NFL Second Round NFL Picks

Howdy Folks,

Dude, here we are in the second round of the playoffs and its time to lace the cleats up and really get down to business. Last week we saw some pretty good games as the Hawks came back late in the game to steal the spirit from the Taylor Redskins, Eli finally showed up in a playoff game and got his first win, Norv beat history and figured out how to coach in the second half to beat the Titans, and Jacksonville needed a late rally after they blew a commanding lead on the Steelers. Dude, history shows us that in the second round that the home favorites usually win the game and advance to the championship game. In fact home teams since the current playoff structure, are 53-15. The question that remains is the home teams may advance, but will they cover. Dude! Lets get right too it. Dude.

N.Y. Giants at Dallas(-7.5)

Eli shook the monkey off his back last week, and finally got out of the first round of the playoffs. Did you know it took his older brother more seasons to win a first round playoff game? Probably more to the fact his team sucked, and not that Eli is better than older Peyton. Dallas has had its share of news this week too. Pictures of Tonica have been all over the internet as they rendezvous with Witten and her Dad in Mexico. The problem is not that they were in Mexico, but why in the hell was the blonde bombshells father there. Get a grip girl, you're old enough were you don't have to have your Daddy with you as your bone the Cowboys QB. If I were Romo, I would be pissed when I received the call with her stating "My Daddy is coming too, y'all." Ugh, shoot me. The more important issue here is T.O. and the ankle. Wade has been up and down all week with giving nothing away about his status. I have a feeling that T.O. plays in this game, and he plays well. This is the playoffs and we have seen this before with T.O. and him playing through an injury. Lets look at this year, the Boys have beaten the Giants twice and have scored a total of 76 points in two games. I know they say it's tough to beat a team three times in a year, but I think when push comes to shove Dallas is going to prevail in this one. Witten is going to have a big game this week, and I think the Cowboys come out strong in this one.

San Diego at Indianapolis(-8)

The last time the Bolts played the Colts this year they won on a day where Peyton threw 6 interceptions. That had to be one of the worst games he has ever played. However even with those 6 INTs, they were in position to win that game if it wasn't for a missed Vinatieri field goal. I hate it when it comes down to kickers, but it seems to always do in crucial times of the year. The Chargers were shut out last week in the first half against the Titans. SHUT OUT!! If they choose to fiddle around for a half against the Colts this week, they will be down 21-0 before they even know it. Now Gates has an injured toe and is probably going to be active, but not very effective. If anyone has ever hurt their big toe, they know its pretty much impossible to put any weight on it. Indy comes into this game getting a late Christmas present with a healthy Harrison. Dungy's patience with Harrison looks to have paid off, even though it probably killed a ton of fantasy teams this year. I will be looking for Peyton and company to bring the thunder this week against a River led team. Give the points and take the Colts in this one.

Jacksonville at New England(-13)

The Jaguars are still alive as they squeaked by the Steelers last week in a game they dominated for three quarters. The Cats completely fell apart in the fourth and it almost cost them the game. Garrard struggled in the passing game and if it wasn't for a 38 yard run on fourth and two they would have been toast and on vacation. Jacksonville has one of the best rushing attacks in the league with the duo of MJD and Fred Taylor. The problem here is I think they will be down points in this game, and will have to count on Garrard to throw the ball. Which we know, he can protect the ball, but he isn't going to win any football games with his arm. The Pats have been off a week, and you know they will come out ready for the game. The Jags have also given the motivation the Pats they need. Check out their power rankings on their own website. http://www.jaguars.com/News/PowerRankings.aspx They put a freaking asterisk next to the Pats name. I think they are pissed now, and will get up early and roll late.

Seattle at Green Bay(-8)

I want the ball, and I am going to score. HA HA. I had to say it didn't I. Just too freaking easy. We all know that clip will be played numerous times this week, as the Hawks battle the Packers again this year in the playoffs. We all know what happened to Hasselbeck after this comment too. INT to the house baby. Well Seattle won last week against a spirited Washington team. The final score may not show this, but Seattle was very very close to losing that game big time. If it wasn't for a couple of crucial turnovers late by Collins, they would have been on the beach this week too. The Packers are the team that everyone wants to win with Favre back in the saddle and testing time again. The one thing I love about Favre is that no matter what the guy looks like he is having fun out there. Watch him this week, and he will have a smile on his face. The Packers have the run defense to shut down Morris and Shaun. Shaun pretty much has stopped himself. When is the last time, a back of his stature has fallen so fast. If I was Holmgren I would be giving the ball to Morris every play instead of watching Shaun fall backwards. This game will probably be close early, but Lambeau will carry them through it. I like old man Favre in this one.

* Dude, If you look above you will see that I have takien all the favorites this week. The goal here is to go 3-1 and I just love the favorites in the second round. They had a bye week for a reason. They are better than the other teams. Lets hope that last fact is true.
