The Padres and the Fish, aka Marlins, will square off tonight in what can only be described as a pitcher's ballpark. It actually ranks 27 out of 30 for hitter's, which means it is a pitcher's dream. Tonight on the mound will be Nolasco and Maddux. Both of these guys have seen their fortunes go in different directions, much like the teams they represent. So...who will we pick tonight...on to the matchup....
| Florida Marlins EVEN at San Diego Padres -110 |
The Marlins, despite being the better team, are slight underdogs tonight. Part of this is because San Diego took two of three earlier this year and Miami, and the other part is because people still believe in crafty Maddux. However, Maddux hasn't gotten a win in his last 11 starts, and has been rocked his past two outings. On the flip side, Nolasco for the Marlins has won 8 of his last 9 starts and most recently struck out 8 in 7IP against the Nationals. He has ERA below 4 and is striking out 6.57 / 9IP. The Padres are no offensive juggernaut, and therefore, Nolasco should fare well. He didn't due well his first time out against the Pads this season in Miami, but this is a kid who has found his groove and will be pitching in a pitcher's friendly ball park. Take the Fish in this one.
