Whew!  I think I just recovered from staying up watching the All Star Game.  I can't help but to wish that it had gone another inning or so to see what the managers were going to do for pitching.  The announcers kept babbling on about a possible stop to the game, but I doubt they would have done that.  Imagine if you were at the game and they said that after staying there for almost 5 hours...you would be ticked.  Anyways, it was an absolutely great game, and if you didn't watch it, I'm sure it will be on ESPN classic shortly.  Now, on to the matchup...

San Diego Padres +103 at St. Louis Cardinals -113

This is what I like to call a Lincecum game.  You've got a stud pitcher on the mound for the Padres, yet he is still the underdog.  As you know, my theory is that the odds should be in favor of the better pitcher, especially from a pitcher who has shown he can go late into a game.  Peavy is a lifetime 3.24 and 1.18 WHIP, which is great.  Lohse, on the other hand, despite having a great year, is a lifetime 4.69 ERA and 1.4 WHIP pitcher.  As they say, the law of probability will eventually catch up with you, just ask the Vegas casino owners.  So...it's a no brainer tonight...take Peavy and the Pads.
