Fantasy Baseball Player Analysis: Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer: Get this freak now!!!!Max Scherzer: Get this freak now!!!!

Mad Max! Is he any good? Do you want him? Who should you drop to get him? YES, YES, Everyone! For you fantasy players out there looking to jump start your pitching staff that has been beaten to a pulp from bad outing after bad outing, Mad Max is your answer. Stop reading, and go hit the add, submit button. Ok, we see it every year. Homer Bailey, Phil Hughes, etc. get called up and are the next coming of Jesus. Will it be the same for Max or will he be more on line par as Lincecum?

If you look at this guys minor leagues numbers they are pretty impressive. He had a 38/3 strikeout/walk ratio in AAA, and is ready for prime time. He came in last night in middle relief and didn't allow a hit in 4.1 innnings, and struck out 7. This guy is sickly talented, and should be on every fantasy team out there. The DBacks haven't said if he will be a reliever this year, or starter, but there are hints that he starts as early as next week. Even if he doesn't, it shouldn't matter. With talent like this you have to take the chance, to greatly improve your team. If he sucks, which he won't, you can always pick up the next talented rookie. Fantasy teams that don't take chances will find themselves at the bottom of their leagues every year. Its the ones who reach out and find the diamonds in the rough that win championships. The greatest thing about Mad Max is that he has two differenct color of eyes. How crazy is that? I think he is worth it based on that fact alone. How many other pitchers have 2 different color eyes? You could own a 1 in a million here. So stop reading, and go pick him up now. You won't regret it.

This guy is going to have to prove he is the real deal. Cueto came out on fire also, but has been nothing special as of late.

I think you are just trying to scare off people trying to pick him up before you on waivers. He is too good not to take a chance.
